Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park infographics: what's built/what's coming/what's missing, who's responsible, + project FAQ/timeline (pinned post)

"Quality of Life Community Update Meeting" next Tuesday; no agenda yet but Instagram logs incidents

Well, on Aug. 15, we got a reminder that that the seemingly bi-monthly Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park "Quality of Life Community Update Meeting" had been rescheduled from Aug. 24 to Sept. 13, which is next Tuesday.

The meeting will be from 6-8 pm and the location, as per usual, is the:
Shirley Chisholm State Office Building
55 Hanson Place
1st Floor Conference Room
But there's no agenda yet.

Surely the state and developer Greenland Forest City Partners have information they wish to share.

But if they need a record of construction and operations incidents affecting the community around the project site--cars on the sidewalk, illegal truck parking, traffic jams, etc.--they should go to the #BCIZA hashtag (Barclays Center Impact Zone Alliance) on Instagram. Below are some examples.

By the way, the meeting was originally called the Quality of Life Committee, with expected citizen participation; it then became a Community Update Meeting, a "developer meeting," according to a state official. Now it's supposed to be called Quality of Life Committee again.

The subsequent Atlantic Yards Community Development Corporation meeting was also shifted, from August 16 to Sept. 20. That's usually 3-5:30 pm; no location has been set, but it's often at Long Island University.

Two tractor trailer trucks associated with B3 are illegally located on Dean east of Vanderbilt. Both are off of any legal truck route. In addition one is parked in a bus stop. I spoke to the drivers who were the ones to identify they were associated with B3. They said they were hauling containers. The contractor told them to leave the site and find parking in order to return. They were given no further instructions. The contractor told them there is no space in the immediate vicinity of B3. This is s violation of NYC regulations because they are both off designated truck routes and blocking a bus stop. It is also a violation of ESD's designated truck protocols.
